Our A Book and a Brew campaign is back!
Join us throughout the Summer to help raise awareness across the Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow boroughs and host a Home-Start book swap party. It’s a fun and easy event to host, with three simple steps:
- Invite your friends for a brew (or some bubbles!)
- Ask them to bring 1 or 2 books to swap and, if they want to, give a small donation to us
- Raise awareness and funds of the charity
It’s a great way to de-clutter and revive your book shelves in advance of any Summer holiday you have planned.
If you’re interested in hosting a book swap party for Home-Start, please contact Claire Leonard by emailing here , or calling 020 8487 8500, and she will send you a party pack containing everything you need. Parties should take place between June and September, but feel free to host at another time that is convenient to you.
If you have some free time after Easter, and you are a parent or grandparent, you could help other families with pre-school children. We are offering a free course to train you to be a home-visiting volunteer, supporting families with difficulties such as post-natal illness, bereavement or disability.
Our next course will run at the Kingston Quaker Centre on Wednesdays, 9.30am – 2.30pm, from 25 April to 13 June (excluding half-term). It can be accredited to NVQ 1 or 2.
After the course, you would visit a family for 2-3 hours a week. For more information, please contact Angie Ahmed on 020 8487 8500 or email email@example.com
Hopefully you have already saved the date of Friday 11th May for this year’s Richmond May Ball. Exciting next step; you can now book your ticket(s)!
In its 25th year, the Richmond May Ball has to date raised over £1 million for more than 15 local charities and we’re thrilled to have been chosen as one of this year’s local charity partners. This prestigious ball has always been a memorable and ‘must attend’ event in the Richmond social calendar and promises to be the same this year. For an inside peak at the ball, take a look at last year’s video. Tempted? There are two ways you can book:
- Online by using this link
- Send an email to the ball committee
Join us for a wonderful evening knowing all money raised will make a difference to the lives of Home-Start families across Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow.
We very much look forward to sharing this wonderful occasion with you.
